4th Quarter 2014 VA HIMSS Newsletter

We need you to take action!

Problem:  Members of Congress are not hearing from their constituents about the need for action on the MU 2015 Reporting Year!

As you know, the Meaningful Use 2015 Reporting Year has begun for Eligible Hospitals and is rapidly approaching for Eligible Professionals.  The HIMSS Government Relations Team has been working with a Coalition of Organizations on educating congressional staff on the importance of providing flexibility in 2015, while EHs and EPs ensure they are able to install 2014 CEHRT.  The EHs and EPs can use the additional time to test and ensure quality and safety are not compromised.

HIMSS is directing a full grassroots effort to provide a platform for constituents to vocalize their concerns to Members of Congress and Senators.  (Additional background is in the attached PDF, entitled MU Flex IT Rule_2015_Reporting Year_112014)

Congress needs to hear from our Chapter Members on this important issue!

Action: The HIMSS Legislative Action Center (LAC) is a valuable resource to get the word to your Members of Congress and Senators on your experience with the 2014 CEHRT and expectations for the 2015 Reporting Year.  Staff have provided step-by-step instructions in the attached PDF (FlexITActSlides.Final.pdf) to help your voice be heard.

We appreciate you lending your voice to this critical legislative action!
