The Academic Alliance Community is focused on “Bridging the gap between academia and industry” and has been expanding its engagement with local student organizations and the academic community in Southern California since 2008. By integrating university thought leaders and students, the SoCal HIMSS chapter is creating and fostering a new set of thought leaders to meet the future challenges and issues in HIT.

Fall Membership Informational event at USC Sol Price School of Public Policy -October 14, 2014, 5:30 PM-8:30 PM

Representatives from various organizations will be presenting insight on the benefits of memberships to various organizations for those enrolled in a Health IT or similar degree of study. SoCal HIMSS AAC will be presenting health professional students with material to highlight the incentives of becoming a HIMSS member.

SoCal HIMSS AAC Career Roundtable Event in San Diego will be hosted at University of San Diego (USD)- October 16, from 6:00 PM-8:00 PM

Students enrolled in healthcare information and management-related disciplines are invited to network with industry executives and leaders for a night of roundtable discussions that will go over career development including recommendations in transitioning as students to healthcare professionals. 1-year memberships will be provided to the first 35 student non-members that sign up. Spacing is also limited, so please sign up fast!

We are still looking for executives to participate for this event. Please email us if you are available to provide your service!
