Spring 2014HIMSS14 Highlights

Communities Open House
The New Member Reception and Communities Open House kicked-off the first full night of HIMSS14 with a Florida theme. The SoCal Chapter had a great time with our State of the Bugs theme, handing out bug spray, sunscreen, chapstick and lots of creepy crawlers. Our volunteers told perspective new members about all of the Committees and events our chapter has to offer. Jim Brady, Area CIO at Kaiser Permanente Orange County, incoming SoCal Chapter President, was impressed with the evening “It was a great time. We met lots of new people, got to network with other chapters and catch up with old friends. Communities Open House is one of my favorite events so that we can learn from what our colleagues are doing all over the country.” Thank you to all who visited us and we look forward to seeing you at our future events!

Northern and Southern California Networking Reception
On Tuesday night, Northern and Southern California chapter members gathered for the Annual Networking Reception at the Microsoft booth. Chapter members got to hear a few words from Sri Bharadwaj, SoCal Advocacy Chair, and Michael Robinson, VP of Health at Microsoft on the importance of the work the Chapters do and the relevance of our impact on the National efforts. Thanks to CTG Health Solutions, Salient Networks and Microsoft for the donation of wonderful raffle items. We look forward to seeing you all again next year!
