Healthcare on FHIR!

Join Austin HIMSS for an update on interoperability and how FHIR is helping to solve real world problems in our community

Recent ONC and CMS interoperability final rules are accelerating the deployment of healthcare infrastructure based on the HL7 FHIR interoperability standard.

Please join us on Tuesday, July 14th when Darrell Woelk, CTO of Green Room Technologies, will review the status of the normative FHIR standard that includes a data model, an API for accessing data and a query language for finding and filtering data.

Darrel will describe his experience over the last 6 years with the development of the FHIR standard, the testing of FHIR client and server  implementations in FHIR Connectathons and industry led FHIR Accelerator projects that are deploying FHIR, SMART on FHIR and CDS Hooks in the areas of health insurance, public health, genomics, clinical trials, cancer care and social determinants of health.

Darrell will be joined by members of our local healthtech community who are using FHIR to improve patient care including Philips Johnson, CTO of b.well Connected Health, and David Chun, who lead the student project that won the University of Texas AI Health Data Challenge competition.
