This accomplished panel includes:

• Beth Downie, Chief Information Officer of Newton-Wellesley Hospital in Newton, MA, a member of the Mass General Brigham system.
• Lisa Ewing, Chief Information Officer of Lynn Community Health Center in Lynn, MA, one of the largest community health centers in Massachusetts. 
• Naomi Lenane, Chief Information Officer and Vice President Information Services at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, MA
• Angie Mathieu, Associate Vice President and Chief Information Officer for South County Health in Wakefield, RI

Beth Downie has served as Chief Information Office of Newton-Wellesley Hospital since 2011 Newton-Wellesley Hospital is a member of the Mass General Brigham system.   Beth started her career at Newton-Wellesley Hospital in 1999 as an Applications Analyst, assumed increasing levels of responsibility and was promoted to Chief Information Officer in 2011.   Beth has more than 28 years of Healthcare IT experience.   In addition to her 21 years at Newton-Wellesley Hospital she had worked at two Massachusetts based healthcare software vendors as well as two Massachusetts community hospitals.  During her tenure, Beth has led the Information Services Department through many successful technology upgrades and implementations including Meditech CPOE, Meaningful Use using our Meditech EHR, Integrating Soarian Revenue Cycle with Meditech Administrative and Clinical systems along with Epic Revenue Cycle, Epic Ambulatory Early Adopters and Epic Clinicals.

Beth holds a BA degree in Psychology from Stonehill College.   She is a member of the Health Information and Management Systems Society. 

Lisa Ewing is an accomplished healthcare IT professional serving as the CIO of Lynn Community Health Center, one of the largest community health centers in Massachusetts.  She has served in a variety of roles on the New England HIMSS Board, including President.  Lisa has also been a member of the HIMSS Davies Award Committee and the HIMSS Chapter Task Force.

She is currently a member of CHIME, AEHIS and the Society of Information Management Boston chapter, through which she completed the Regional Leadership Forum, a 9-month personal and professional leadership development program.

Lisa was honored with being selected as the Big Sister Association’s ‘Big for a Day’ Big Sister of the year and is passionate about developing young women in STEM careers.  She is a regular supporter of the YearUp program which helps close the opportunity divide by supporting young adults through training and mentoring.

She is an avid golfer, a novice gardener, and loves spending time with her cats, her husband, and friends, and appreciates a good scotch at the end of the day.

Naomi Lenane, Chief Information Officer & Vice President Information Services Dana-Farber Cancer Institute

Naomi Lenane was appointed Chief Information Officer and Vice President of Information Services in June 2017. She is responsible for all software and infrastructure supporting the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute clinical and business operations, including care delivery, business & administrative functions and human capital. Prior to her role as CIO, she held multiple roles at Dana-Farber, including the IS leader for the Epic Health Record implementation and the opening of the Yawkey Center for Cancer Care. Naomi received her undergraduate degree from Randolph College (formerly Randolph-Macon Woman's College). She is an active member of the Health Information Management Systems Society and SIM (Society of Information Management) Boston with a focus on women in technology.

Angie Mathieu serves as AVP and Chief Information Officer for South County Health in Wakefield, RI where she is responsible for executing digital health strategy and implementing transformational informational technology initiatives.  She assumed this role in February 2020 at an exciting time of transition and growth for South County’s IT and digital platforms.   

Angie started her career at The William W. Backus Hospital in 1998 as a Programmer Analyst.  In the course of her time at Backus Hospital she held roles of increasing responsibility and led successful IT implementations including the implementation of Meditech Client/Server in 2003. Angie was named Application Director in 2011 where she planned and led many complex projects, including an extension of the Meditech LSS Ambulatory platform to private community physicians.   Backus Hospital joined Hartford Healthcare in 2015 at which time Angie was promoted to System Director and assumed additional responsibility for IT services at Windham Community Memorial Hospital in Willimantic, CT.

Angie led each hospital’s conversion from their standalone EHR, financial and third party applications to Hartford Healthcare’s standard technology platforms including Epic and PeopleSoft. 

Angie graduated from the University of Rhode Island with a concentration in Management Science and Information Systems.   She is a Rhode Island native who loves living in the Ocean state and takes every opportunity to enjoy its beautiful beaches in the summer with her husband and two young daughters.
