Eric Abbott – Systems Director, Strategic Partnerships, Innovation and Patient Experience, Advocate Aurora Health

Eric is a seasoned technology executive with a deep understanding of digital health and mobility services. He is Systems Director, Strategic Partnerships and Innovation in the Chief Technology Officer’s organization at Advocate Aurora Health, an integrated healthcare delivery network serving Wisconsin and Northern Illinois. There, he leads a corporate innovation team to digitally transform the organization to promote clinical effectiveness, operational efficiencies, and the patient experience. He is also Adjunct Faculty at Northwestern University, teaching the Consumer Digital Health and American Healthcare System graduate courses in the Masters of Health Informatics (MHI) Program, and an advisor to Capstone students in the program. Prior to this, Mr. Abbott led Product Management and Strategic Business Development initiatives at various high technology companies focused on the healthcare, Public Safety, and commercial enterprise markets.

 

Craig Miller – Director, Ambulatory Services, Franciscan Health

Craig currently serves as Administrative Director of Ambulatory Services for Franciscan Alliance with a focus on system wide Retail, Virtual platform, Urgent Care/Occupational Medicine clinics, and Population Health initiatives. During the past 90+ days, Franciscan has gone from minimal ambulatory virtual visits to over 100,000 in that time span. On the acute side, Franciscan is using virtual for behavioral health, grand rounds, heart failure units, and tele stroke/neurology. Franciscan was also awarded an FCC grant of $929k to boost virtual capabilities.

Previously he served as Executive Director for Specialty Physicians of Illinois LLC and Franciscan Physician Network in the South Suburban Chicago Region. The groups account for 115+ providers and 400+ FTEs servicing the Franciscan Health Olympia Fields Hospital and South Suburban Chicago region. He previously served as Division Director of Operations for HSHS Medical Group in Springfield IL.

Craig’s additional experience includes Executive Director for Progressive Cancer Care LLC and River View Surgery Center. Both were outpatient physician/hospital joint ventures. Craig received his Bachelor of Arts from Wabash College, MHA from Indiana University and is a Fellow in the American College of Health Care Executives.

 

Ajay Sharma – IT Project Manager at University of Cincinnati Health

Ajay Sharma has 20 plus years of IT experience working at organizations on their IT initiatives. Now an IT Project Manager for UC Health and also President of the Central & Southern Ohio HIMSS, where he has volunteered since July 2007 in several Board capacities. He has also worked for several large healthcare providers including as an Ambulatory Project Manager at Children's Hospital, Los Angeles and as an IT Program Manager at Palomar Health in San Diego and Mercy Health in Cincinnati. He was also a Senior Manager in the National Healthcare Practice at Sogeti, USA LLC. He has been on the national mHIMSS task force and as a Vice Chair on the HIMSS Chapters Task Force. He has a Bachelor's Degree in Commerce from Bangalore University and an MBA in Marketing from Fairleigh Dickinson University, Madison, NJ. He also received his a HIMSS Fellow distinction in December of 2012.
