Please come join DFW HIMSS for a special Fireside Chat, featuring John (JP) Polanowicz, COO at Steward Health Care, who will be discussing how Steward leverages predictive analytics to achieve operational efficiently at their 36 hospitals, across 10 states. Steward Health Care is the largest, private for-profit health system in the US, and recently relocated their headquarters to downtown Dallas from Boston.

As a member of the Steward Health Care leadership team, JP oversees the operations of their current hospitals, as well as future growth plans for the system. Prior to this role, he served as EVP of Steward’s Hospital Services Group, where he was responsible for the hospitals affiliated with the original Steward Health System in Massachusetts. Between his time as COO and EVP at Steward, JP served as the Secretary of the Executive Office of Health and Human Services (EOHHS) under Governor Deval Patrick. As Secretary, Polanowicz oversaw 15 state agencies, including MassHealth, Department of Public Health, Department of Mental Health, Department of Developmental Services, Department of Children and Families, just to name a few. He is an experienced health care leader, and has used his expertise to help Massachusetts increase their already nation-leading access to care, while also tackling the issue of costs. JP is a former company commander in the U.S. Army, where he served in a Blackhawk Assault Helicopter Company during overseas military combat operations, a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, and received his MBA from Stanford.
