Program Summary

The Cybersecurity Information Sharing Act (CISA) is a United States federal law designed to "improve cybersecurity in the United States through enhanced sharing of information about cybersecurity threats, and for other purposes". CISA was signed into law on December 18, 2015 and allows the sharing of Internet traffic information between the U.S. government and technology and manufacturing companies.  Healthcare-focused enterprises today face growing pressures to ensure privacy and security protections while also enabling faster user access and exploration of new and different types of data sources and greater business control over analytics content. These pressures are stretching the limits of traditional data warehouses and business intelligence tools. As a result, disruptive technologies are emerging that provide greater self-service analytical capabilities and easier, faster data acquisition and preparation for analysis with robust cybersecurity protections.

At the nexus of this universal pressures, these powerful disruptive technologies lies an unprecedented opportunity for federal enterprises to reap the rewards of transforming their legacy data environment into a modern data environment while maintaining privacy, compliance, and security. This Program will feature notable Federal Chief Information Security Officers (CISO) as well as Federal Chief Data Officer and Chief Analytics Officer across the Federal Health Agencies to help our members delve deeper into the changes that will be sweeping across the agencies and how both government and industry will be affected through the transformation.

Discussion Topics Include:

  • CISA 2015 –Key tenants of the law and implications to the healthcare industry
  • Potential changes being considered across the federal Health IT agencies?
