Indiana HIMSS Chapter Names Four Scholarship Recipients

INDIANAPOLIS, In. (January 25, 2021) The Indiana Chapter of the Health Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) is pleased to announce the recipients of four Health Information Technology Scholarship.

This is the first time the Indiana Chapter has awards academic scholarships. “As we discussed ways to extend our reach, given the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, our Chapter Board of Directors felt that recognition and engagement with emerging local leaders would be appropriate and benefit our membership. We are look forward to their active participation in Chapter activities,” commented Jim Fall, INHIMSS Chapter President.

We are proud to announce:

Jennifer Retzloff as the recipient of the $2500 Undergraduate Scholarship. She is studying Health Information Management at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis.

Carly Noel Daley as the $2500 Graduate Scholarship recipient. She is a PhD Candidate in Informatics and Computing Health Informatics at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis.

Amrutha Ravali Jakka as the $1000 Graduate Scholarship recipient. She is a Master’s Candidate in the Department of Health Informatics at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis.

Nicolas A. Sturgeon as the $1000 Graduate Scholarship recipient. He is a first year PhD student in Computer and Information Technology at Purdue University.
