We are excited to inform you that the 16th Annual HIMSS Minnesota Conference will be held on Wednesday, May 24, 2017. The theme for this year's conference is "IT’s About the Patient." This conference brings together members and non-members to share their knowledge and to learn about current events in healthcare IT throughout Minnesota.

This year's conference features a full day of educational and informative sessions planned especially for you. The day’s activities begin with an inspiring Keynote Presentation:

Patient-Centered Healthcare

This presentation invites the healthcare IT community (particularly in their role as stewards of patient data) to consider a different approach to enabling healthcare delivery in the US through a comparison to other country healthcare systems with a focus on outcomes and relative cost. 

Whereas the US healthcare IT solutions are disaggregated, and predominantly focused on billing and reimbursement, almost every other industry vertical is focused on consumer (patient) engagement, and value (outcomes).   In a creative and innovative approach, Mr. Jacques will share how to engage patients, the consumers of our healthcare services, in their personal healthcare process(es).  The presentation will conclude with an invitation for the attendees to participate in a drive to develop a radically different approach for engaging patients into their own healthcare consumerism.

After the Keynote Presentation, breakout sessions hosted by thought leaders throughout the state area will engage in topics central to the following three educational tracks:

• Analytics
• Mobile and Portal computing
• Clinical Informatics

The conference concludes with an engaging networking session / social hour with hors d'oeuvres and drinks.
