Discussion on Appropriate Use Criteria (AUC)

Jeannette Currie serves as Chief Information Officer for Beth Israel Lahey Health Community Hospitals including Beth Israel Deaconess Milton, Needham and Plymouth. Ms. Currie is responsible for all of the functions of Information Technology across the Beth Israel Deaconess Community Hospitals and is also the designated HIPAA Security Officer.
Ms. Currie joined the Beth Israel Deaconess System in 2015. She oversaw a successful implementation of a fully integrated, cloud hosted, web based electronic medical record (Expanse!), that went LIVE in October of 2018. She works to advance system strategic goals by assuring that the underlying technology and information exchange supports the clinical affiliations.
Ms. Currie serves on many local task forces and workgroups and was recently recognized as a finalist for Boston CIO of the Year in the nonprofit sector. Currently, she is participating in the CRICO and AMC PSO sponsored Task Force to create guidelines for safe laboratory specimen handling through the lifecycle of the testing. Recently, she was a contributing member of an advisory group to develop a Digital Health Marketplace program in Massachusetts for the Mass eHealth Institute. Ms. Currie is a member of CHIME and HIMSS and has spoken broadly on implementation strategies for Electronic Health Records as well as on achieving and sustaining quality improvements by leveraging technology.
A graduate of the University of Massachusetts Amherst, Currie was previously Executive Director of Information Systems at South Shore Hospital. She also served as Assistant Director of Information Systems at Mount Auburn Hospital and Information Systems Manager at Caregroup.
