Austin HIMSS Chapter Lunch and Learn: Strategies for Automating Texas’ Unique Disclosure Requirements - April 11th

We are pleased to announce our upcoming April Austin HIMSS Chapter Lunch and Learn event. You can register by clicking the link below. This event is scheduled for Tuesday, April 11th.

Session Title - Strategies for Automating Texas’ Unique Disclosure Requirements

Session Presenter: Timothy Kelly

Timothy Kelly, Director of Taylor Healthcare

Texas is the only state with an active Medical Disclosure Panel. This results in a consent process that is a challenge for providers while being beneficial for patients. This session will examine strategies for automating this process with a goal of allowing providers to focus on disclosure; not on documentation. Recommendations for leveraging technology to enhance safety will also be presented.

Timothy Kelly serves as director at Taylor Healthcare, where he is responsible for patient information management solutions. His areas of interest include safety, shared decision-making and patient engagement. Tim has presented at five national HIMSS conferences and the 2016 Texas Regional HIMSS Conference. His latest articles on this topic are; “Six Best Practices for Informed Consent” (For the Record, September, 2016) and “Shared Decision-Making: Reexamining the Role of Patient Preference” (Becker’s Hospital Review, March 9)
