Advocacy:

Health information and technology solutions are driving advances in biomedical research, improved care delivery and access, wellness through disease prevention and management, early detection of disease, cost effectiveness, and economic opportunity. We support this progress and encourage harnessing the rapid speed of innovation across our community in government action. Our goal in Advocacy is to build a strong foundation of public policy surrounding health information and technology that’s critical to the HIMSS vision to realize the full health potential of every human, everywhere.

This year, HIMSS WI will focus on health equity through connected health, improving cybersecurity and data privacy to protect our patient and provider communities, and advancing towards bidirectional and individual access to our health information through interoperability. WI HIMSS members interested in public policy and advocacy and members who wish to effect change across various levels of government are encouraged to engage with our chapter.
