Future – how’s it going to be?

The fiscal year is behind us, and with it comes new goals for our chapter, new goals for you, and for healthcare. We have successfully crossed the one year mark of global pandemic, crossing so many variables but roaring high every single day, pushing the pandemic behind us.

This past year of healthcare was unlike any other. Yet, we have embraced so many challenges, changes in workflows and came through with flying colors.

Check out what the  2021 Future of Healthcare Report from HIMSS has to say. It includes topics such as Digital Health, AI, Machine learning and others.

General Updates

CPHIMS Certification Virtual Boot camp

The Wisconsin and Minnesota Chapters of HIMSS conducted a FREE CPHIMS Virtual Boot Camp review course to help our members pursue their goals of becoming CPHIMS certified. The course happened over the course of four weeks in October.

We had 23 participants from various health systems across the state. The overall feedback has been positive, with great attendance and a very engaging group . Check out our website for more such events.

2021-2022 Scholarship Winner

The HIMSS Wisconsin Chapter continued its commitment to recognize student excellence this year by offering a $2,000 scholarship to a qualified student studying healthcare information and management systems related areas.

Over the course of the application and review process, the chapter is happy to announce that Aidan Hoffman has been selected as the recipient of this year’s WI HIMSS Scholarship.

Aidan is currently pursuing the Bachelor of Business Administration degree at UW-Whitewater. He plans to consider Information Technology or Business Analytics as his major of study.  In the past few years, Aidan has served as a volunteer to assist with HIMSS Wisconsin Chapter activities, including Spring Career Leadership Conference and various education related events. Most recently, Aidan serves as a Chair of Student Affairs representing his fellow students studying in health IT related academic programs. The scholarship consists of a $2,000 award, plus a free student membership to HIMSS-Chapter and a seat on the Governing Board of the HIMSS-Chapter for one year.

Congratulations, Aidan!

Events Calendar

We want to continue to provide more value to our members. And we think we can accomplish this by:

  • Continuing to offer more educational events collaborating with chapters
  • Diversifying the education experience by offering more webinars
  • Getting more regular feedback from you

We consistently look for opportunities to obtain feedback from you, update our future events on the website, a value-add webinar or two, and different ways for you to give us feedback so you can continue making a difference in healthcare.

In a poll that we conducted recently on our Linkedin group, 50% of the participants would like a hybrid work culture, balancing between in-person and virtual. Hence, we have planned our events as well accordingly, as well. Here is a sneakpeek of what's coming!

In-person campus event: Planned to be held at UW Whitewater on a Monday in February
HIMSS National: Mar 14th – Mar 18th at Orange County Convention Center, Orlando, FL
