2016 Chapter Leader Exchange Recap
Thank you to all chapter leaders who attended Chapter Leader Exchange (CLE) July 12 and 13 in Rosemont, Ill. The participation and engagement in the 2-day session was astonishing. HIMSS staff is pleased to have amazing chapter leader volunteers. Resources from CLE can be found on the Chapter Leader Resource Area (CLRA -> Chapter Leader Essentials -> Chapter Leader Exchange).

HIMSS staff is actively looking for new tools and resources to ensure chapter leaders are successful and to ease the volume of workload on volunteers. HIMSS received wonderful best practice tips during the breakout session at CLE. The best practice will be added to the CLRA soon, please check back for additional material. HIMSS staff will be working with the Chapters Task Force (CTF) to discuss the feasibility of implementing the great suggestions from chapter leaders during the sessions. A special thanks to our excellent emcees Christopher Kunney, CTF chair, and Scott Smiser, CTF vice chair.

2016 Annual Standards Report
The 2016 Chapter Annual Standards Report is due July 31. These standards are designed to help chapters achieve organizational goals and benchmark future goals. All HIMSS chapters must meet minimum organizational and program delivery requirements based on the nine standards included in this report.

HIMSS would like to make the annual reporting process as easy and efficient as possible for chapter leaders. To ensure that the report is completed in a timely fashion HIMSS strongly encourages chapter leaders to work on the report throughout the year and delegate sections amongst the board. Chapter leaders can review the 2016 version on the Chapter Leader Resource Area now!  Please send any questions to Chapter Staff as the board works to complete this year’s report.

The new 2016 version will be available on the Chapter Leader Resource Area. Send any questions or concerns to Chapter Staff.

Immunization Integration Program
Electronic health records (EHRs) and health information technology (IT) play a critical role in improving the rate of appropriate immunizations in the United States. The Immunization Integration Program (IIP), a collaborative effort between Chickasaw Nation Industries, Inc. (CNI), HIMSS and ICSA Labs — takes immunization workflow mainstream, streamlining and improving overall vaccine administration and management process. Learn more here and check out the FAQs for more information.

We ask that you share the following with your chapter members for their feedback by Aug. 5. If you have any questions, please contact iiphelp@himss.org.

Workflow 4: Manage Inventory
Workflow 5: Administer and Report Immunization

Posting Chapter Events to the HIMSS.org Calendar
Create a buzz and reach a greater audience by submitting your FY17 chapter event details to HIMSS so we can add to the Calendar of Events at HIMSS.org.  Remember that more event details (date, time, location, fee, registration link, agenda, etc.) sent to HIMSS, the more robust the event will appear, hopefully attracting new attendees who may not have attended the chapter’s event otherwise.  HIMS can post an event save the date as well, for events that are still in the planning stages. Make sure to send all chapter events details to Chapter Staff and HIMSS will post promptly.
