About Our Speaker:

Ms. Linda Nikpour, DNP, RN-BC, CAHIMS, is the Director of the Undergraduate Health Science Program and Assistant Profefessor at Madonna University. In her role, she directs two tracks in Health Science: Population Health Management and Health Care Informatics and Quality Systems Management. She graduated from Waynesburg University with a Doctorate in Nursing Practice, a master’s degree in Health Care Informatics from The University of Colorado, and a Bachelor of Nursing Science degree from The University of Iowa. Also, Ms. Nikpour obtained a graduate certificate in Population Health Science from Jefferson University in 2018. She has worked extensively in infection prevention roles in acute care settings before transitioning to academia.

About Our Speakers:

Betsy Freeman is CEO and Founder of the Radius Advisory Group, LLC, a Management Consultancy focused on cybersecurity and cyberspace issues of national importance.  She had been Vice President, Regional Operations at Ascolta, LLC, an emerging data analytics company, based in Herndon, Virginia. There she began development of a cyber portfolio and leveraged data analytics and business intelligence to fuel efforts in a rapidly growing cyber market.  Ms. Freeman has both industry and Department of Defense experience that includes time at PricewaterhouseCoopers as Chief of Staff for the Americas Utility Industry Practice as well as Senior Director for Marketing and Business Development.  While at the Department of Defense (DoD), Ms Freeman had the role of Deputy, CIO for Business Process and Systems Review.  She initiated the creation of a data analytics function to provide more transparency on Information Technology (IT) costs and potential efficiencies across the DoD.  In addition, Ms. Freeman also served in the Executive Office of the Secretary of Defense where she was a member of the Defense Efficiencies Task Force (EFT) under Secretary of Defense Robert Gates.

Dr. Trevor Smith is a Clinical Consultant, at Verana Health, a leading data health company that has exclusive partnerships with the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Academy of Neurology as well as a working at his eye surgery practice. The consulting position involves a number of roles including UX/UI, data analysis, data security, software development, telemedicine, and strategy. Most recently, he was involved in the final development of a recent iPhone application, "Verana Vision Test," which is available on the iTunes store. While at the University of Michigan Medical School he developed and co-founded the Innovation curriculum and participated in multiple startup accelerators. He then went on to train in Ophthalmology at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak. He was accepted into an advanced oculoplastics training program before redirecting his clinical career toward Comprehensive Ophthalmology, focusing on cataract surgery and minimally invasive glaucoma surgery.
