Message from the President

As 2014 comes to a close, it is an ideal time for reflection and expressing appreciation to those who have made an impact. On behalf of the Austin Chapter of the Healthcare Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS), the board and I would like to thank all of our wonderful members, sponsors, presenters and volunteers who have supported us so generously, allowing us to provide outstanding educational and networking opportunities for the healthcare IT community. With 2014 marking the celebration of our Chapter's 10th year, we look forward to continuing to serve you over the next ten years!

2015 Texas Regional HIMSS Conference

2015 Conference Header

The Texas Chapters of HIMSS will hold a one and a half day educational conference in Austin, Texas on February 18th - 20th, 2015. The theme of this year’s conference is “Keep Healthcare Weird Wired”. This is our 7th Annual Regional Conference and we anticipate over 400 healthcare IT professionals to attend. We are also offering an optional pre-conference activity on Wednesday (2/18). We will be visiting the Texas State Capitol to meet with legislative staff promoting the value of investing in Health Information Technology. Afterward, we will hold a networking social in the Exhibit Hall from 6 - 8 pm. We encourage you to get involved and sign up for the office visits! In January, we will be offering orientation webinars that will provide details on the legislative office visits, discuss expectations and offer other helpful tips on how to make these meetings as productive as possible. Watch for these announcements coming soon.

Austin HIMSS 10th Anniversary Celebration  

We had a fantastic turnout for our 10th Anniversary bash and appreciate those who were able to join us for the festivities! It was a great opportunity to network, share stories, listen to a wonderful band and enjoy some delicious food. A very special thank you to all who made this event possible and to our members for their continued support and participation.
