Speakers:

Tony Luciani is a Supervisor in Wolf’s Information Technology (IT) Assurance Services group where he is responsible for managing and delivering information security, risk, and vendor management services for clients in a variety of industries, including the financial, educational, software and healthcare sectors. He is also responsible for ensuring quality work and timely completion of projects to clients by staying up-to-date with industry developments.

 

Robert Rivas is Oxford Networks’ Vice President of Data Center and IT Solutions. He has over 20 years of information systems and operational experience in the telecommunications, healthcare, and manufacturing industries.
Prior to joining Oxford Networks, Rivas served as the Director of Technical Services for Central Maine Healthcare and as Client Executive for Caretech Solutions. Prior to Central Maine Healthcare, he held leadership, network engineering, and systems engineering roles in the semiconductor field. As Vice President of Data Center and IT Solutions, Robert oversees all data center and IT solutions operations, as well as implementation of cloud solutions and emerging technologies.
 
 
 
Dev Culver is the Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of HealthInfoNet which operates Maine’s statewide health information exchange (HIE). HealthInfoNet recently entered its ninth-year of operation. All hospitals in Maine are under contract with HealthInfoNet and will be bi-directionally connected to the exchange by the end of 2016.  Over 450 physician practice sites, Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC), skilled nursing facilities, and behavioral health organizations are also currently connected to the exchange.

 

Michael Keighley is the Information Security Manager for MaineGeneral Health in Augusta, ME.  He joined the MaineGeneral Health team in August 2016.

Michael is originally from Cincinnati, OH and attended the University of Maine, earning his BS in Business Administration in 2006.  He also earned the Certified Information Systems Security Professional certification in 2013 and completed his MA in IT Management from Webster University in 2014.

 

Barb Armstrong, CISA, CISM, MSA Director, Information Privacy and Security at Maine Medical Center/MaineHealth

Barb has been working in IT Security and Privacy professions in one form or another for over 25 years at several New England based organizations.  Her experience includes work with Payment Card Industry standards, Healthcare Privacy and many aspects of Information Security technology and management.
Barb currently works at Maine Medical Center and oversees a cross functional team of privacy and security professionals supporting and working with MMC and other MaineHealth member organizations.
 

Jeff Sanford, CFO, Beacon Health, Eastern Maine HealthcareSystems
Beacon Health leads EMHS (Eastern Maine Healthcare Systems) in population health efforts andtransforming healthcare payment models.  As the CFO, of Beacon Health, Jeff provides financial leadershipfor developing population health contracts and building a provider driven health plan.  He is responsible forcreating financial models and strategies necessary to implement business plans. In addition, he alsomonitors the performance of members participating in population health activities, does due diligence ofproposed new members, collaborates in member contract compliance, provides decision support, andparticipates in contract negotiations.

Piali De, PhD, CEO, Senscio Systems

Dr. Piali De is a co-founder and CEO of Senscio Systems. She leads SenscioSystems with the vision and passion for a world made better through intelligentinformation systems.Prior to Senscio Systems, Piali was an Engineering Fellow at Raytheon’s IntegratedDefense Systems. At Raytheon, she invented a system called Confluence™,designed to deliver knowledge-based decision support in military and public safetymissions. She was responsible for managing Raytheon’s knowledge based decision support business area.Piali is an author of many publications, two patents and one pending patent. She is aco-inventor of Senscio’s patent pending Scio™ framework. She is a member of Phi Beta Kappa, Sigma Xi and Sigma Pi Sigma honor societies. Piali received the National Women of Color’s 2009 Technology Innovation award. In2005, Piali received the Raytheon CEO Award, Raytheon IDS President’s Award and Raytheon Business Development Excellence Award, for her work on profilingMarine Corps missions.Piali and her husband Dr. Hugh Stoddart are proud parents of two sons: Keiron andBrenton; all four share a passion for traveling.

Ralph Johnson, CHCIO, FHIMSS, Regional CIO, Southern Region, MaineHealth Information Services

 

Daniel Burgess, Vice President and CIO, MaineGeneral Health

Danny has over 25 years of healthcare information technology experience. Graduate of Thomas College, Waterville, Maine, he has worked for MaineGeneral or one of its subsidiary corporations since 1989, and has been serving as the Vice President and Chief Information Officer since December, 2007.  He has helped lead an effort to restructure Information Technology services at MaineGeneral, and his practical work experience includes strategic and operational planning of the Alfond Center for Health, Maine’s newest medical center and deployments of EMR’s for both inpatient and outpatient populations.  One of his particular areas of interest is with clinical interoperability. Key focus points moving forward include strategic and operations planning for healthcare industry reform, accountable care and value based care for the Greater Kennebec Valley region.

 

Denis Tanguay is Chief Information Officer for Central Maine Healthcare.

Prior to accepting this position, Denis was the director of Technical Services for Central Maine Healthcare (CMHC) and the site Client Executive for CareTech Solutions.  Tanguay’s experience in healthcare information technology spans more than 28 years. He served as the Manager of Network Systems for Maine Medical Center. Mr. Tanguay has a bachelor’s degree in Computer Systems from Daniel Webster College and currently working towards his Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration, he is a CHIME Certified CHCIO and is a member of HIMSS.

Karen Bowling, CIO at Covenant Health

Karen Bowling is the Chief Information Officer for Covenant Health, Inc. She is responsible for providing technology vision and leadership in the development and implementation of a strategic plan to support the infrastructure and application solutions for the entire system. Karen collaborates with technology staff at the 3 acute hospitals and technologists over elder services operations.

Karen’s primary initiative is consolidation of technology systems as Covenant moves from a decentralized operating model to a single operating model. Prior to joining in 2013, Karen was CIO at St. Joseph Hospital in Bangor, ME.  Over the last 10 years, she has led the organization’s migration from paper to an electronic medical record, implemented bed side medication administration and electronic document management for Health Information Management.
