Austin HIMSS Chapter is taking the lead to make our annual CIO panel a statewide virtual CIO panel!
Join your colleagues from around the State of Texas to hear from the most influential CIOs representing Austin, Dallas Houston and San Antonio. Hosted by the HIMSS Austin Chapter and open to all Texas HIMSS members, this webinar will bring us together to talk about the hottest topics in virtual patient care and employee engagement.
During this interactive panel we will hear what innovative things these health IT leaders are doing to increase patient engagement in the new world and discuss what challenges and benefits they have experienced to date. We will also learn what changes these CIOs have made to keep employees (patient facing and non-patient facing) happy, healthy, engaged, and collaborative.

• Matt Chambers, CIO, Baylor, Scott & White (Dallas)
Matthew Chambers is Chief Information Officer of Baylor Scott & White Health, the largest not-for-profit healthcare system in Texas with 52 hospitals, over 800 patient care sites and more than 7,500 affiliated physicians. He is responsible for designing and deploying the next generation clinical architecture to enable BSWH to meet the triple aim of increased access, lower per-capita costs and improved population health. Prior to the merger with Baylor Healthcare, he was the CIO of Scott & White and led the implementation of the fully integrated enterprise electronic medical record system, achieving HIMSS Analytics Stage 7 at four hospitals and 23 clinics at a nationally recognized rapid pace.
Prior to joining Baylor Scott & White he held leadership positions at KPMG, BearingPoint and James Martin & Co. Throughout his career, he led large-scale business and technology transformation projects with a focus on M&A, post-transaction IT transformation, IT Strategy and Governance architecture.
• Edward Cuellar, CIO, Methodist Health System (San Antonio)
Eddie Cueller, MBA is CIO for Methodist Healthcare System (MHS) of San Antonio, which is a joint venture of Nashville, TN based HCA Healthcare (HCA) and San Antonio, TX based Methodist Healthcare Ministries (MHM). MHS is the largest and most advanced healthcare system in San Antonio. For over 20 years at MHS, Eddie has focused his energies on addressing the clinical and business challenges in a competitive marketplace, through the use of information technology.
Eddie currently serves as President of the Healthcare Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS) of San Antonio and has been a member of HIMSS and the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) for many years.
Previously, Eddie was the Corporate VP of IS and CIO of Incarnate Word Health System and Santa Rosa Healthcare. Prior to working directly for health care systems, he was VP and part owner of James Barko & Associates, Inc.. This health care consulting work followed his successful staff work at Andersen Consulting and IBM.
• Erica Williams, CIO, South West Market, Community Health Systems (Austin)
Erica, CHCIO, MBA, PMP, is a healthcare inspired professional with 20 years of business and IT&S experience within the healthcare industry. Her passion is serving patients, clinicians and the business by leading a highly engaged technology team that creates, implements and supports innovative solutions and seeks continuous process improvements.
In her role as the Southwest Market CIO she is responsible for information technology operations and support for 15 hospitals and affiliated free standing ERs, urgent care clinics and physician practices across Texas and New Mexico.
Previously Erica held several IT leadership roles with HCA including PMO Director, Director of Applications and Director of Operations for the North Florida Division.
• Charlie Wardrip, SVP & CIO, Kindred (Houston)
Charlie Wardrip, SVP & CHIEF INFORMATION OFFICER, KINDRED HEALTHCARE is a member of Kindred Healthcare’s leadership team and is responsible for all information technology utilized by Kindred’s business units. He is responsible for the formulation of strategic goals and plans as well as the management, implementation and operations of all technologies. He is also responsible for Kindred’s program office that manages mergers, acquisitions, and the integration of businesses into Kindred’s organization, as well as assisting with the establishment of new business lines.
Charlie joined Kindred Healthcare, then Vencor, in 1996 as Director of Technology, to help establish an agile and scalable infrastructure that could support the diversity and growth plans the company had established.

Prior to joining Kindred Healthcare, he spent 18 years with Humana, Inc. in various technical and managerial roles.
