Robert Dichter, Vice President, Digital Health Services & Solutions, VersatileHealth

Bob Dichter is the founder and Principal of Manage My Career Search, a career mentoring service, in addition to his work as a healthcare technology strategist. As the President of the Hair Club for Men states, “I’m not just the President, but I’m a client”, this applies to Bob as well. Years ago, when early in his career, he was having difficulties finding a job – he couldn’t well articulate what he did and why someone would want to hire him, so he created a process that has been very effective for himself but also for numerous others as well. As someone that has worked in numerous start-ups, Bob has also needed to look numerous times for jobs and has been fortunate to have worked with several Career Coaches and an outplacement firm. These professionals have helped Bob really refine the networking process and he has become known in New England HIMSS as the guy that knows everyone. Well…maybe a slight exaggeration, but Bob is connected to over 4000 people on LinkedIn. Over the years, Bob has advised 100’s of people either starting out their career in health IT or transitioning into the field and created his professional mentoring service when he realized that he could shorten the time it was taking for people to find a job.

Nan Solomons, PhD - Director, Center for Excellence in Digital Health, University of New England

Dr. Solomons is the director of the University of New England's Center for Excellence in Digital Health and Assistant Director of the university’s Health Informatics graduate program. Nan's PhD is in Health Innovation from Arizona State University’s College of Nursing. Her dissertation research used social network theory and methods to understand how nurses' communication patterns influenced adoption and adherence to evidence-based practices for transitions of care.

Nan began her professional career working in software startups as a software support and implementation engineer both pre- and post-sales. Laid off during the technology bust of 2002, she knew she had to retool. Following the call to improve healthcare, Dr. Solomons earned a Master's in Health Policy and worked as a data analyst and program evaluator at MaineHealth's Center for Quality and Safety. In this position, she became familiar with regulations, reimbursement, readmission, and resistance to change. While her roles in healthcare and academia are far from her technology roots, the hard and soft skills she honed during her early technical support roles remain quite relevant.

Liddy J Bileck, Associate Systems Analyst, MaineHealth

After 20+ years fostering health and wellness through spiritual care and behavioral health office administration, Liddy followed her passion for systems thinking and informatics to a career in health IT. This summer, she began her new position as an associate systems analyst for MaineHealth’s Clindoc team. [[She finds the intersection of human psychology/behavior, technology, and data endlessly fascinating, and is particularly interested in how people process large amounts of data.]] She is devoted to using informatics, analytics, and data visualization to remove barriers and improve patient and provider experiences in healthcare access, delivery, and outcomes.

Liddy holds a B.A. in history from Augsburg University in Minneapolis, MN and a Master of Divinity degree from Luther Theological Seminary in St. Paul, MN. She will complete her Master of Science in Health Informatics degree from the University of New England in Portland, ME next May. She is an active member in NEHIMSS, volunteering on both the Student Activities and Advocacy Committee.
