Central Texas HealthCare's future is powerfully being built by the direct impact of our HIMSS Austin Chapter. This lunch and learn will speak to our HIMSS Mission while covering HIMSS Austin's priorities and focus for the 2022-2023 year. We will discuss our HIMSS Austin BOD roles, what they do and what changes are occurring. Our panel will consist of the people from our membership who are working collaboratively on state and national levels to leverage this important pandemic regulatory moment to create the HIT future in Austin we all envision. Members will hear about the positions opening for this upcoming 2022-23 BOD cycle. We will have a Q&A with members about these open positions as well as the opportunities to get involved with the BOD committees essential to our mission such as communications, advocacy, programming and social.

Hope is a leading innovator and driving force behind the concept and development of Biomedical Music ™ . She speaks and consults nationally and internationally on music and Biotechnology design and integration. Ms. Young is also recognized nationally and internationally in such publications as The Journal of the American Medical Association, Shape Magazine, The Wall Street Report, and New York Times Bestseller: The Mozart Effect.
She has led her field in securing third-party reimbursement for music related treatments for over three decades and continues to break new ground as a seasoned entrepreneur and healthcare company owner.
Hope is an active member of the National Academy of the Recording Arts and Sciences (Grammys™). She serves as an multi award winning Executive Producer of Biomedical Music™ which is integrated with biotechnologies as a health solution for millions of users around the world.



Mark Steiger is a seasoned executive, lecturer and thought leader in the healthcare IT industry. He currently serves as Chief Operating Officer of Optum Everycare, a division of United Health Group. Most recently, Mark was Vice President of Clinical Operations for Optum’s Center for Digital Health. Previously he served as Sr. Director of Operations for the Consumer Products division of Ascension Health serving Ascension markets throughout the U.S. from a virtual 24/7 Solutions Center in Austin, TX. Mark has rich and broad experience in virtual care, population health, patient access and experience, and leading edge remote clinical surveillance systems and technology.
Mark previously held leadership roles at large public and private outpatient groups. He also helped to develop and is a Faculty Affiliate with University of Texas’ Health Informatics and Health Information Technology certification program and has been a lecturer for eighteen successive cohorts. He holds a Master’s in Business Administration from the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin.
Mark serves the Central Texas Community through his roles on the Boards of United Way, Thinkery Children’s Museum and as President-Elect on the Board of Austin HIMSS. In his free time he is an avid cyclist and snow skier. He and his husband Tristan live in Austin, TX with their 14 year-old beagle Trevor.
