Bulent Ugurlu

Bulent Ugurlu has more than 20 years of software development experience across multiple industries Healthcare, Financial Services, and Manufacturing.  He leads the business architecture team, and is leading key initiatives with CMS Star Ratings, Provider Reimbursement, and Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Integration. He is working across the organization to establish Business Intelligence and Analytics (BI&A) practice for UnitedHealthcare.   He started his career as a software developer and moved into different development roles; development manager, technical lead and enterprise architect. He works with business stakeholders in developing strategy for BI&A, Big Data technologies, and EMR.

He has a Master of Science degree in Software Engineering from University of St. Thomas.

 
Kal Pasupathy, Ph.D.

Kal Pasupathy is an Associate Professor in Health Care Systems Engineering and serves in various scientific and practice leadership roles at Mayo Clinic. He has over 15 years of experience leading and pioneering efforts in developing data mining and analytics models/algorithms and designing and improving complex care delivery systems. His team was awarded the Goodeve Medal for the most outstanding contribution to the philosophy, theory, practice of operations research in 2007 by the Operations Research Society in London, UK. His book on Health Informatics is widely used and he has received awards, created inventions and is frequently sought to consult or talk internationally. Dr. Pasupathy has a PhD in Industrial & Systems Engineering from Virginia Tech and has worked with organizations such as the University of Missouri, American Red Cross, British Red Cross and Aurora Health Care.
