Jeff Vargas, Sr. Solutions Strategist for Cyber Security, CA Technologies

Jeff is responsible for providing a comprehensive security strategy and architectural framework for Education, State, and Local Government in the "Application Economy". He focuses on educating partners on Advanced Identity Management and Advanced Authentication to Enterprise Resources. 

In addition, Jeff is experienced in APIs, which enable new services in the Internet of Things (IoT). With APIs, clients have the ability to share enterprise data and digital content over the internet and developers are empowered to create apps across all of these new channels as well as front-end legacy systems.

Monte Ratzlaff, CISSP, CISA, Chief Security Officer, UC Davis Health System 

Monte Ratzlaff manages the IT Security department and also serves as the Chief Security Officer for the UC Davis Health System. Mr. Ratzlaff has extensive experience in information security within the banking and health care industries.

As an IT Security leader, Mr. Ratzlaff serves on numerous committees at UC Davis Health System and the UC level including the HS Security subcommittee, Information Technology Policy and Security (ITPS), Emergency Preparedness, and the Health System Operations Compliance committee.

Gary Dias, CISSP, Security Operations Manager & Backup ISO, CA Department of Health Care Services

Current oversight at DHCS includes 40 initiatives with immediate, short-term, mid-term, and long term project life-cycles. Gary's project oversight includes program development or enhancement, technical development, technical design and integration with critical systems, policy formulation and business process re-engineering to improve efficiencies and reducing enterprise debt. 

Chris Jeppson, CISSP, Sr. Security Engineer, Adventist Health

Chris Jeppson has an extensive career in Information Security and Networking in the telecommunications and health care industries. He has specialties in areas such as documentation, operations, security program establishment and build-out, and tool evaluation and integration. Chris has also worked to improve perceptions of InfoSec by other teams, decreasing turnaround time, and increasing collaboration.

Kevin Spease, CISSP, Managing Partner/Security Engineering Consultant, ISSE Services 

Kevin Spease has an extensive career in information security engineering consulting with the Federal Government as well as prior experience as HealthNet's Manager of Application Architecture and Infrastructure where he and his team ensured Health Net hardware and software were kept current and in compliance with SOX, HIPAA, DIACAP and PCI. Kevin is also Planning Commissioner with the City of Elk Grove.
