Mary is an award-winning executive with proven experience in health care policy, focused on Federal and Congressional issues specializing in virtual and Digital Health Technology. She is an author, national speaker, and instructor in health policy and medical informatics. 

Mary leads change in policy, regulation, market trends & innovations in health IT. She currently serves as the Director of Federal Policy for Cigna, focused on Health Information Technology policy and Privacy and Security issues.

Mary’s management experience spans over 25 years’ in health care, and health IT. She has lead Thought Leadership teams for HIMSS National, Yale New Haven Health System, GE Health Care, IDX Systems, Tek Systems, Aetna and Anthem, Blue Cross and Blue Shield. She has served as former chair and is a current member of HIMSS Public Policy Committee. She is a current member of New England, HIMSS Board of Directors and Public Policy Committee. Mary serves as a member to AHIMA’s, CEO Advisory Council. She is also a member of AHIP, PCHA and the Confidentiality Coalition. Mary has also provided testimony on the value of Health IT to Congress.

Mary has authored many blogs, articles and has served as an Associate Editor of Participatory Healthcare: A Person-Centered Approach to Healthcare Transformation, published by CRC Press, August, 2016. Ghost editor of Engage! Transforming Healthcare through Digital Patient Engagement, published by HIMSS in March, 2013. Winner of "book of the year" in 2014.

Renee Broadbent joined SoNE HEALTH as Vice President of Information Technology in January of 2021, later assuming the role of Chief Information Officer in 2022.

Renee leads SoNE’s data and technology strategy, and oversees data security for the organization. Renee is a senior-level healthcare executive with extensive background in strategic planning, information technology, population health management and data security. She has held the role of Chief Information Officer and Chief Information Security Officer in both hospital health systems and Managed Care Organizations (MCO). Prior to joining SoNE HEALTH, Renee served as Senior Manager at Wolf & Company, P.C. and as AVP of Population Health Information Technology and Strategy at UMass Memorial Health Care in Worcester, Massachusetts.

 

 

Sue Schade MBA, FHIMSS, FCHIME, LCHIME

Sue is a Principal at StarBridge Advisors, LLC. A nationally recognized health IT leader, she is currently serving as interim SVP and CIO at Boston Children’s Hospital. In recent years, she has served as interim Chief Technology Officer at University of Vermont Health Network, Chief Information Officer at Stony Brook Medicine on Long Island and at University Hospitals in Cleveland, Ohio. Prior to StarBridge Advisors, she was a founding advisor at Next Wave Health Advisors.

 

Sue has more than 30 years’ experience in healthcare information technology management and was recognized as the CHIME-HIMSS John E. Gall, Jr. CIO of the Year in 2014.

 

Sue served as Chief Information Officer for the University of Michigan Hospitals and Health Centers from 2012-2015, providing direction and oversight to information technology initiatives and working closely with the CIO for the U-M Medical School. Under her leadership, UMHS made the HealthCare’s Most Wired list in 2015 and achieved the HIMSS Analytics EMR Adoption Model Stage 6 in 2014.

 

For over 12 years, Sue served as Chief Information Officer of Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. Her previous experience included 12 years in positions of increasing responsibility at a large integrated delivery system in the Chicago area. She led the software division for a start-up healthcare software and outsourcing services vendor for several years and worked as a senior manager in the healthcare information technology practice at Ernst and Young.

 

An active member of HIMSS and CHIME, Sue served on the CHIME Board from 2004 to 2006 and chaired its Education Foundation Board from 2006 to 2009. She served on the HIMSS Advocacy and Public Policy Steering Committee from 2009-2011 as well as the CHIME Policy Steering Committee. Sue achieved fellow status with both HIMSS and CHIME. She is currently serving on the AAMI board as Vice Chair of Health IT.

She is a regular speaker and writer within the HIT industry including a weekly blog called Health IT Connect at www.sueschade.com. She holds an MBA degree from Illinois Benedictine College in Lisle, Illinois.

Naneen Chase-Ortiz

Naneen is a nurse who enjoys the geeky side of healthcare and after working in Women’s Health, Emergency Department and as a Health Coach, she transitioned to Nursing Informatics. Over the past ten years she has been working on the electronic health record implementation for all of MaineHealth’s hospitals. Naneen is the Director of a 63 person team that supports the Epic modules for Inpatient, Oncology, Pharmacy, Surgery, Anesthesia, Emergency Department as well as over 80 clinical third party systems. For fun and mental health, Naneen enjoys fencing (foil and epée), cycling, camping, reading and watching movies. And as part of her passion to make the world a better place, Naneen works with a Maine organization to advocate for public policies that support Health Care and Racial, Native and Immigrant Justice issues.

Robin Sodano, CHCIO

Robin has been involved in the IT/Tech industry for 30+ years with over 20 in healthcare IT.  Robin is the Senior Vice President of Information Services and Chief Information Officer at UMass Memorial Health Care.  She has progressive experience in all aspects of information technology and has served UMass Memorial Health Care in variety of roles including Associate Chief Information Officer and Vice President of IS Business Operations.  Achieved and maintains professional designation of Certified Healthcare Information Management Officer (CHCIO) through College of Health Information Management Executives (CHIME).

 

Robin provides leadership for the continued development of a robust and secure health information technology environment throughout the health care system.  The primary responsibilities for her office encompass a wide variety of strategic technology issues:

 

  • Stakeholder-led governance and policy
  • Resource Allocation
  • Information Technology Strategy, Standards and Protocols
  • UMass Memorial Health Care Information Services organization

 

Robin holds a degree from Boston University, Business/Professional Studies.  She is an avid lifelong learner and has attended various professional training programs including Project Management Institute, Society for Information Management Regional Leadership Forum, Worcester Polytech Institute (WPI) IT Leadership Program, CHIME CIO Bootcamp, process improvement training in ISO 9000 and LEAN.  She currently holds a UMMHC Lean Black Belt.

 

Robin is also passionate about developing the next generation of IT staff and leaders and has been a major proponent of several development programs both in higher education and professional sectors.

 

Robin is an active member of several professional organizations in the IT or Healthcare IT:  Society for Information Management/Advanced Practices Council; Healthcare and Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS); College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME).
