Maryland HIMSS Chapter ANNOUNCES ANNUAL HEALTH IT SCHOLARSHIP AWARDEES

Baltimore, Maryland (September 26th, 2017) – The Maryland HIMSS Chapter is pleased to announce the recipient of their annual Health IT scholarship. The application process requires students to be actively pursuing additional education in a health IT related field/course of student. Applicants are reviewed and selected based on personal statement, recommendations and need.

“We were once again astonished with the application submissions. There were many individuals that really impressed the review committee, but one stood out in particular. We are therefore honored to present a scholarship to Unique Moore” said Debra Roper, Chair of Professional Development for the Maryland HIMSS Chapter and Director of Information Technology at Anne Arundel Medical Center.

Unique Moore - Unique is seeking her Masters of Science in Health Systems Management from the University of Baltimore. She is currently employed as an Implementation Specialist with MedChi supporting CRISP with community outreach and onboarding ambulatory, skilled nursing and behavioral health groups with CRISP services. Upon completion of this program her goal is to apply her learnings and further her work in transforming care delivery with CRISP as well as to sit for the CPHIMS exam.

We remain committed to growing and supporting our local workforce through this scholarship and by providing forums for ongoing professional development.” Said Karen Marie Wilding President of the Maryland HIMSS Chapter and Senior Director of Quality & Value Based Care at UMMS.

The Maryland Chapter of HIMSS is the state-wide, grass-roots group of professionals with a focus on information technology in healthcare; they represent over 1800 clinicians, allied health, government, business and technology professionals.

In addition to the $2,500.00 award, recipients also receive
  • Honorary Maryland HIMSS Chapter Membership for one year
  • Admittance into all Chapter Education Programs at no cost
  • Appointment to a chapter committee of choice
