Spring 2014 Newsletter
Message from the President
I hope that all of you are enjoying the wonderful weather we have been experiencing in Southern California. We have been truly blessed when much of the rest of the country has had a challenging winter.
As we transition into Spring, there is much to communicate to our membership about things happening in the chapter.
Chapter of the Year Award
On Tuesday, February 25, 2014 our Southern California HIMSS chapter was awarded Chapter of the Year Award / Large Chapter at the HIMSS14 Awards and Recognition Banquet in Orlando, Florida. This is the second time our chapter has won this award in the last three years. President Clark Kegley was unable to attend the banquet, so President-Elect James Brady accepted the award on his behalf.
HIMSS14 Highlights
The New Member Reception and Communities Open House kicked-off the first full night of HIMSS14 with a Florida theme. The SoCal Chapter had a great time with our State of the Bugs theme, handing out bug spray, sunscreen, chapstick and lots of creepy crawlers. Our volunteers told perspective new members about all of the Committees and events our chapter has to offer.

mHealth Apps for Children with Chronic Illness
by Dr. Pamela Kohlbry, PhD, RN, CNL, et al.
