Abstract: Across the industry we are seeing more organizations utilizing information they have harvested in the last 10 years in their EHRs in order to provide preventative or prescriptive care. In this webinar we will explore different approaches to predictive analytics and practical learnings that have been realized through recent advances in this application. We will also discuss cost benefits that are associated with application of preventative measures obtained through this analysis.

Linda Buscemi

Linda is the Co-Founder & Chief Clinical Officer of TapRoot Interventions & Solutions. She has 25+ years across the healthcare industry as a clinical therapist and behavioral expert. Before her own start up, Linda developed the behavior change program to complement a wellness program for Bank of America contract. The outcomes of the program and notably the behavioral change program was sighted as a key driver of the acquisition to AllScripts which sold as a bundled package for ~$200M. As a follow-up, Linda created content and was the subject-matter expert for peer-to-peer empathy digital platform, LifeGuides™.
Her career experience includes executive leadership, direct services, and since 2006, Linda has focused her career in the long-term area, specifically in Alzheimer’s and dementia patients. Her unique approach provides effective interventions enabling positive impact on the measures of the frequency of behavior, psychotropic medications, and hospitalizations while limiting the use of psychotropic medication. Linda’s career supports her philosophy which encompasses prevention and reduction of behaviors.
Linda has several publications since her first research paper with the CDC and Emory University in 1996 to her latest publication of her first book which was an Amazon best seller.
Dr. Matthias Kochmann
Sutter Health
Dr. Kochmann is board certified Pediatrician and Clinical Informatician. He works for Sutter Health in the Bay Area in the Pediatric Urgent Care Center and is part of their Clinical Informatics Team. Dr. Kochmann founded his own consulting company that supports healthcare IT startups with R&D, Customer Success, and Healthcare System Integration. In addition, he established a non-profit that provides sexual health education to schools.
Dr. Kochmann got his medical degree from Semmelweis University in Budapest, Hungary. He completed his pediatric residency at Children's Hospital at SUNY Downstate in Brooklyn, NY, and his clinical informatics fellowship at the Regenstrief Institute/ Indiana University in Indianapolis, IN. Dr. Kochmann has a Master's in Biomedical Informatics from Oregon Health and Science University.
Yukon Chen

Yukun Chen, PhD, is the Vice President of Artificial Intelligence (AI) who oversees a team of applied scientists in data science and natural language processing (NLP), data analysts, and data engineers to develop and deliver healthcare AI and analytics solutions. He has been one of the original members at Pieces since early 2016.
Prior to Pieces, Dr. Chen was an NLP scientist at PCCI, a visiting scholar in University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, an intern at MD Anderson Cancer Center, and a health system software engineer at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Dr. Chen’s research has focused on medical NLP, interactive machine learning, deep learning, and biomedical informatics. He has published over 20 peer-reviewed papers in several high-impact journals and conferences in the health informatics domain including Nature methods, JAMIA, AMIA, and JBI among others.
Dr. Chen received his PhD in biomedical informatics from Vanderbilt University in 2015, and MSE in Electrical Engineering from University of Pennsylvania in 2008.
