President's Corner

July 1 marked the start of the new fiscal year for HIMSS-WA and the transition to a new board.  While several of our board members will continue to serve in their current roles, there will be some new faces this year.  I’d like to congratulate and welcome new board members and thank current board members for their continued dedication and time.

The board has already begun planning a great year of activities including a Veteran’s Networking event, a Wine Tasting event; the final two sessions of the Data Warehousing series, and the 2016 Executive Dinner in January.

Candidates completed an application that detailed their scholastic achievement, leadership skills and communication abilities and industry-related education, training and experience. After a rigorous selection process, the HIMSS board is pleased to announce the six award winners.

Emerging Professionals – panelists needed

Seeking a panel of 4 speakers from local Healthcare professionals or organizations to discuss their programs and benefits of joining or becoming involved in their field; Audience is the 2nd year cohort students of University of Washington Masters in Health Information Management.

Areas of discussion; Health Information Management, Compliance, Health Informatics, Policy and Advocacy, Health Information Exchange, Electronic Health Records and related HIT.
