Jeffrey Allport was appointed Vice President and Chief Information Officer in September 2013. Previously, Mr. Allport worked as an independent information technology consultant through JLA Insights, the health care information technology company he owns and operates. He also has served as Vice President of IT Solutions Delivery at St. Joseph Health Systems in Orange County, Senior Manager of E-Health Initiatives at Healthcare Industry Group of Perot Systems, and Chief Information Officer of St. John Medical Center in Jackson, Wyoming.

As Vice President & Chief Information Officer, Mr. Allport is responsible for developing, coordinating and facilitating strategic information services projects, as well as improving and maintaining the operation of the hospital's computer network.

Mr. Allport received a Master of Divinity degree from Princeton Theological Seminary and a Bachelor of Science degree in biological science from Stanford University.

Tom Andriola

Tom Andriola joined the University of California system as Vice President and Chief Information Officer in October 2013. He oversees the information technology (IT) function, helps guide system-wide technology initiatives, manages technology needs for the Office of the President (UCOP), and provides leadership for the development of a long-term strategic vision for technology and digitalization at UC. In collaboration with campus, health system and UCOP leadership, he plays a key role in exploring opportunities both for achieving system-wide efficiencies through shared services, and for developing technology innovations to support the UC missions of teaching, research, and patient care.

Andriola brings over twenty years of executive experience driving change and innovation through the use of technology. As an enterprise technology executive, he has helped organizations define their IT vision and implement a broad range of solutions to achieve competitive advantage. As a champion of innovation, he has run organizations across four continents and led the creation of businesses generating more than $100M of revenue growth.

Clark Kegley

Assistant Vice President, Information Services
Scripps Health

Clark Kegley is the assistant vice president of information services at Scripps Health and has been with Scripps for 16 years.  Prior to that Clark was a technology consultant, working on large-scale implementations and interface development within healthcare.

Over the years, Clark has held positions such as chief information officer (interim) and director of IS operations, as well as owned his own consulting firm, specializing in healthcare interfaces between clinical systems. Clark also served as the president of the Southern California Chapter of HIMSS.

He holds degrees in economics and computer systems. He is a fellow of the Advisory Board Company, Healthcare Executives Track, ITIL certified and a certified Remedy Administrator and Developer.

Clark has been married for nearly 32 years to Leslie and has two grown sons, Joshua and Daniel. His passion is spending time with his family on the Colorado River where they boat in the summer and dune buggy, quad and motorcycle ride in the winter along with their dogs Rio and Harley.

Michael A. Pfeffer, MD, FACP

Michael Pfeffer, MD, FACP serves as the Chief Information Officer (CIO) for the UCLA Health Sciences, which is comprised of the UCLA Hospital System, the UCLA Faculty Practice Group, and the David Geffen School of Medicine. Dr. Pfeffer is responsible for the development and operations of the information systems, the overall health IT strategic plan, and the implementation of transformative and innovative technologies to further UCLA's mission of healing humankind one patient at a time. With UCLA's initial "Big-Bang" go-live in March 2013, Dr. Pfeffer served as the lead physician and Chief Medical Informatics Officer (CMIO) for UCLA's electronic health record encompassing over 26,000 users.

Dr. Pfeffer serves as a core faculty member for the internal medicine residency program, focusing on information technology solutions for educating residents and improving transitions of care. He is an associate program director for UCLA's new ACGME-accredited clinical informatics fellowship. In addition, he continues to practice as an academic hospitalist, working with residents and medical students in the care of patients.

Dr. Pfeffer's interests include quality and clinical decision support in electronic health records, resident education, and transitions of care, specifically involving the hospital discharge process. Dr. Pfeffer received his bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from Brown University, his medical degree from Cornell University Medical College where he served as class president for all four years, and completed his residency, and chief residency in internal medicine at UCLA. He is an assistant clinical professor of medicine in the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. Dr. Pfeffer is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Clinical Informatics and was nominated for the Becker's Healthcare CIO Leadership Awards 2015.

Chuck Podesta

Charles Podesta has over 30 years of experience in Information Technology for Healthcare, the last eighteen years of which he has spent as a Chief Information Office. Mr. Podesta has worked for Academic Medical Centers, Health Systems and Community Hospitals. Previously, Mr.. Podesta was SVP & CIO of Fletcher Allen Healthcare, a large academic medical center and health system in Burlington, VT.

Other positions included SVP & CIO at Caritas Christi Health Care, now Steward Health in eastern MA, CIO at Berkshire Health Systems, Pittsfield, MA, Director of IS and Interim CIO for Baystate Health Systems in Springfield, MA. And prior leadership positions at St Vincent Hospital, Worcester, MA; UMASS/Memorial, Worcester, MA and Magee-Women’s Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA.

Steven Steinhubl, MD

Cardiologist, Scripps Clinic

Dr. Steinhubl is the Director of Digital Medicine at STSI and a cardiologist at Scripps Health, Scripps Clinic. He received his undergraduate training in chemical engineering at Purdue University in Indiana, graduate training in physiology at Georgetown University in Washington, DC, and his medical degree at St. Louis University in Missouri.

Steve’s internal medicine residency training was completed at David Grant Medical Center at Travis Air Force Base, California. Following residency, he was a staff internist at Elmendorf Air Force Base Hospital in Anchorage, Alaska.

His cardiology and interventional cardiology fellowships were at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation where he was also Chief Cardiology Fellow.

Prior to joining Scripps Steve was the Director of Cardiovascular Wellness and the Medical Director for Employee Wellness for the Geisinger Healthcare System. He was also the Cardiology Fellowship Director, a clinician-scientist and a staff cardiologist there. In the past, beyond his time in the Air Force, Steve has also been a Global Medical Vice-President for The Medicines Company based in Zurich Switzerland and the Director of Cardiovascular Education and Clinical Research at the University of Kentucky in Lexington.

Dr Steinhubl’s research activities have covered a broad range of topics in cardiology with a primary early focus on trials of novel antithrombotic therapies for the treatment and prevention of cardiovascular disease, and more recently on the application of an integrated systems-based approach to the optimal identification, communication and treatment of an individual’s risk for various manifestations of cardiovascular disease. He has been principal investigator or helped lead over a dozen large-scale, international randomized trials and has authored nearly 200 peer-reviewed manuscripts as well as numerous book chapters, and abstracts.
