About the MDHIMSS Extraordinary Women Leaders in Health IT Award

The Maryland Chapter for the Health Information Management Systems Society (MDHIMSS) is seeking nominations of extraordinary women leaders who have effectively demonstrated leadership in improving the delivery of healthcare through the use of information and technology solutions within her organization and beyond.

Maryland HIMSS will announce the recipient of the 2019 Extraordinary Women Leaders in Health IT Award at a reception on Monday evening, December 2nd, 2019 at the Turf Valley Resort in Ellicott City, MD. Details on the event and the preceding educational program are available at www.md.himsschapter.org.

Selection preference will be given to nominees who:
-- Serve as mentors to colleagues seeking to enter or advance within the health information and technology field
-- Are active HIMSS members with demonstrated membership involvement

Nominees must meet all of the following requirements

-- Hold an active leadership role in Maryland healthcare
-- Demonstrate leadership in achieving measurable results in the effective use of health information technology

Nominee exclusions

-- May not currently serve as a Board Member or Officer of the Maryland HIMSS Board of Directors
-- May not currently serve on another national or chapter HIMSS Board
-- May not be a past recipient of the Maryland HIMSS Extraordinary Women Leaders Award
