Session Title - Using Technology to Transform Student Fitness and Connect with Kids

Session Description:

By creating technology that integrates a cloud-based database, proprietary software, and kid-sized optical wrist-based heart rate monitors developed in partnership with adidas.  The result is nearly 700,000 students throughout Texas and globally who now have the tools, knowledge and sustained support to improve their health, specifically through empowerment to self-manage their own health, for life. We'll explore this, other case studies and emerging opportunities for transformation in the IoT and wearables landscape.

Session Presenter: Jen Ohlson, Founder and President of Interactive Health Technologies

Jen is the Founder and President of Interactive Health Technologies, whose Spirit System is transforming education combining wearable technology with the largest connected assessment platform in education. Using personalized learning and empowering individuals to self-manage their health, IHT’s integrated solution links daily fitness to academic and social-emotional success. The result is over 700,000 students nationwide and globally who have the tools, knowledge and support to improve and take ownership of their health for life.  Jen’s is a former TV sportscaster, an award winning author, and filmmaker. Her documentary “Health Needs a Hero” was the catalyst for the innovative curriculum, “PE 3: PE for the Mind, Body, Spirit” which became an official PE Course for Texas schools and now has global reach through IHT’s efforts.
