About Our Speaker:

Ms. Nikpour is the Director of the Undergraduate Health Science Program and Assistant Profefessor at Madonna University. In her role, she directs two tracks in Health Science: Population Health Management and Health Care Informatics and Quality Systems Management. She graduated from Waynesburg University with a Doctorate in Nursing Practice, a master’s degree in Health Care Informatics from The University of Colorado, and a Bachelor of Nursing Science degree from The University of Iowa. Also, Ms. Nikpour obtained a graduate certificate in Population Health Science from Jefferson University in 2018. She has worked extensively in infection prevention roles in acute care settings before transitioning to academia.

Summary: Cyber attacks and data breaches within the healthcare sector have exponentially grown over the last several years, causing an increased risk in the vulnerability of private health information and IoT devices. This presentation seeks to examine several cybersecurity concerns and gaps within the healthcare sector relating to artificial intelligence, contact tracing, IoT devices, 5G technology, the healthcare value chain and big data. This presentation will also shed light on the current impacts of COVID-19 on the healthcare sector and the new cybersecurity concerns that are emerging from this global pandemic. Cybersecurity risk mitigation and data governance strategies will be shared throughout the presentation.
