HIMSS NCA Holiday Cheer Through Charity

On December 6th, 2016,  the HIMSS NCA Chapter was proud to host the 4th Annual Ugly Sweater Holiday Party in support of Toys for Tots.  The objectives of Toys for Tots are to help less fortunate children throughout the United States experience the joy of Christmas; to play an active role in the development of one of our nation’s most valuable resources – our children; to unite all members of local communities in a common cause for three months each year during the annual toy collection and distribution campaign; and to contribute to better communities in the future.

As part of our mission to give back to the community, this event has become one of the premier holiday events in the Federal Healthcare community and has grown substantially over the last four years.  The even brings together individuals from both the Government and Industry Health IT Community to celebrate the season, showcase their “ugliest” holiday sweaters and most importantly raise money and receive donations in support of Toys for Tots.

This year, our generous sponsors - Information Innovators Inc., Heartland Consulting, LongView International Consulting Services, MicroHealth LLC, Attain LLC and G2Xchange – helped support an event that raised more than $1600 in addition to six very large bags full of toys for all ages.  It was our best year yet!!

On behalf of the HIMSS NCA Board, thank you again to everyone who supported the event and we wish you and your families a safe and wonderful holiday season!
