Congratulations to Jane Thomas, the undergraduate student recipient of the UHIMSS 2019-2020 scholarship!

Jane is a nursing student at BYU. She has learned through clinical experiences in nursing school that one of the most important duties of a nurse is documenting for tracking and sharing information. Nurses must be able to navigate the computer documentation systems in order to identify pertinent information. She has seen firsthand the importance of quality information systems and hopes to be an advocate for the partnership between Healthcare Information Management Systems providing valuable feedback in the ways these systems could be improved to better serve the nursing profession. Jane has been active in volunteer work and we are looking forward to her contributions as a member of the Student Liaison committee.
