It's that time of the year again for our Annual CIO Roundtable. Join key healthcare leaders as they discuss the challenges and opportunities that face us as we move forward into 2017. Each of the CIOs will have an opportunity to speak to you about their key initiatives and speak frankly about how best to engage their organizations. Speaker Bios:

Pamela Arora

Pamela Arora serves as Senior Vice President (SVP), Information Services and Chief Information Officer (CIO) and is responsible for directing all efforts of the Information Services groups in the organization. Ms. Arora’s oversight encompasses systems and technology, Health Information Management, and BioMedical technology and support.
Pamela joined the Children’s Health team in 2007. With 30 years of experience in Information Technology, Pamela is a proven leader with a history of achieving results in large corporations in various industries, as well as in entrepreneurial endeavors. Prior to her arrival at Children’s Health, Arora served as the SVP and CIO at UMass Memorial Health Care in Worcester, MA, and CIO of Perot Systems in Dallas, TX.
In 2010, she was instrumental in leading Children’s Health in achieving the Health Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Stage 7 Electronic Medical Record Adoption Model award designation. Under her leadership, Children’s Health has been named multiple times to the InformationWeek500, InformationWeek Elite 100 and Hospitals & Health Networks Most Wired. In 2013, Children’s Health was named a HIMSS Enterprise Davies Award winner for the organization’s innovative use of the electronic health record (EHR) as well as Health Information Trust Alliance (HITRUST) Common Security Framework (CSF) certification. In 2014, Children’s Health earned the Texas Health Service Authority’s SECURETexas Certification and also won the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) Grace Award in recognition of excellence in Health Information Management.
She is a member of HIMSS and serves as a HIMSS Davies Award judge. She is also a member of the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) and the Children’s Hospital Association (CHA). She is a CHIME Certified Healthcare CIO, serving on the Board of Directors for CHIME and HITRUST. In 2015, Arora was named one of the top 50 leaders in Heath IT by Becker’s Health IT & CIO Review, and in the same year, she received the Dallas Business Journal Women in Technology Award. Arora has and continues to speak and lecture at IT-related healthcare events across the nation and internationally.
Pamela holds an MBA from Southern Methodist University and a BA in Computer Science from Wayne State University.

Kirk Kirksey

Kirk Kirksey serves as the Vice President of Information Resources and Chief Information Officer for the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center (UTSW). UTSW is an academic medical center operating two hospitals, over 70 ambulatory clinics as well as extensive research and medical/science education programs.   With over 30 years in the healthcare information technology (IT) field, Mr. Kirksey has held information technology positions in the United States, and at The King Faisal Hospital and Research Center in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.  As an Adjunct Professor at University of Texas at Dallas (UTD), he teaches in the University’s Advance Medical Management Program, and serves on the Executive Advisory Board for UTD’s Masters of Health Care Technology program. He is a member of the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME).  He also serves as an instructor in the University of Texas LBJ School of Public Administration ELITE program.

Matthew Kull

Matthew Kull is the Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer for the Parkland Health & Hospital System in Dallas, Texas. He is a veteran IT Executive and Technologist who has worked with some of the largest healthcare, pharmaceutical and utility systems in the country. Mr. Kull is a recognized technology expert with a history of developing innovative and transformational technology strategies for organizations of all sizes across multiple industries. His experience spans a variety of healthcare settings including hospitals, pharmacies, regional oncology and disease management institutions, telecom and energy systems, retail and distribution organizations. 
Throughout his career Mr. Kull has held senior leadership positions at AmerisourceBergen, McKesson, Oncology Therapeutics Network, Oracle, and Nippon Telephone and Telegraph. He has also spent a number of years as a management consultant providing strategic guidance to companies across multiple industries. His most notable clients include companies such as Accenture, Alcatel, Alcon Laboratories, Walgreens Specialty Health, Shoppers Drug Mart, OncoMed, Eurocopter, Thompson Reuters, McKesson, TXU Energy, Suez Corporation, IVP Pharmaceuticals, ERCOT, Midwest ISO, Southwest Power Pool, Ribelin Sales, Citi Group, Nokia, and XO Communications. 
Mr. Kull holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. He is a CHCIO – Certified Healthcare Chief Information Officer and maintains professional affiliations with both CHIME – College of Healthcare Information Management Executives and HIMSS – Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society.

Pamela McNutt

Pamela McNutt has been in the field of healthcare information technology for 37 years, the last 26 of which in the role of Chief Information Officer(CIO).  She has worked for Medicus/HBOC, Hermann Hospital and is currently the Sr. Vice-President and CIO with Methodist Health System in Dallas, Texas. 

Ms. McNutt has served as a Director on the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) national Board (1998-2001),  on the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) as a Trustee (2007-2009) and as Chair of the Healthcare Information Systems Executives Association.  Pam serves a Director on the Methodist McKinney Medical Center Board.

Pamela is a fellow in CHIME and HIMSS.  She was awarded the John Gall CIO of the year award in 2002, the HIMSS Leadership award in 2001 and the HIMSS Information Systems award in 1998.  She participated as faculty in the CHIME Healthcare CIO Boot Camp 2003- 2006, served as Chair of the CHIME Advocacy Leadership Team (2008 -  2009) and Chaired the CHIME Policy Steering Committee (2009 – 2011). Modern Healthcare named Pamela one of the Top 25 Women in Healthcare in 2011 and she  was named as “56 Women Hospital & Health care Leaders to Know” by Becker's Hospital Review magazine.

Pamela continues to work to shape national Healthcare IT policy as member of the CHIME Policy Steering Committee and the American Hospital Association Healthcare IT advisory committee.  She serves on the Texas Health Care Information Council for the Texas Department of Health, the Texas Health and Human Services Commission Electronic Health Information Exchange System Advisory Committee, and the North Texas Accountable Care Partnership HIE committee.  Pamela is a frequent speaker on the topic of the implications of the ARRA HITECH incentives and HIPAA regulations.

Aaron Miri

Aaron Miri is currently the Chief Information Officer and Vice President of Government Relations for Imprivata, a leading Healthcare IT security firm, and has held leadership roles in Health IT for over a decade. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems from the University of Texas at Arlington and a Master of Business Administration in Healthcare Services Management from the University of Dallas. He is also a Certified Healthcare Chief Information Officer (CHCIO) through the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME), a distinguished Fellow with the Health Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS), and he holds a Project Management Professional (PMP) with the Project Management Institute (PMI).  Prior to joining Imprivita, Aaron served as the Chief Information Officer at Walnut Hill Medical Center, Aaron’s biggest responsibility was leading a high-performing team in a world-class, technological cutting edge health care organization. He was responsible for directing all efforts of the Information Services in the organization, including the Electronic Medical record and interfaced ancillary systems, all supporting technology, and support for those systems. Walnut Hill Medical Center opened in 2014 as a state of the art acute-care hospital serving Dallas County and was heralded by Forbes Magazine as the “Hospital that Steve Jobs Would Have Built.”  In 2015, Walnut Hill Medical Center was awarded HIMSS EMRAM Stage 6 Certification and recognized as a Best Hospital IT Department by HealthITNews.

Aaron has successfully led organizations that achieved the HIMSS Nicholas E. Davies Award, HIMSS Level 6 and HIMSS Level 7 EMRAM status, HITRUST CSF designation, and led the first organization to receive the SECURETexas Health Information Privacy and Security certification awarded through the Texas Health Services Authority (THSA).  He is a regular speaker on the health IT security front, has spoken at HIMSS and CHIME national and local forums, and currently serves on CHIME’s Cyber Security workgroup.  Aaron is the current Chair of the HIMSS National Public Policy Committee and has been asked to serve as an expert advisor to the United States Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) and to other congressional panels engaged in numerous Health IT policy topics. He also served as a member of the Office of the National Coordinator (ONC) HIT Standards Transport and Security Subcommittee and with the ONC Patient ID Matching group as a member hospital. He is also a member of the AT&T Healthcare Executive Board, the Imprivata Healthcare Advisory Board, and is a mentor in the North Texas American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) chapter.
